Dr. Brown earned her bachelor's degree in Animal Science from the University of Connecticut in 1986, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University in 1990. She graduated valedictorian of her veterinary class.
Following graduation, Dr. Brown was an associate for two years in a mixed animal practice in Newville, PA. In 1992, she decided to focus on small animal medicine and surgery and joined a small animal hospital in Hanover, PA. In 2000, Dr. Brown decided it was time to pursue her dream of opening her own practice. Brown Animal Hospital opened in May of 2000 in a small leasehold facility. The practice rapidly grew, and in 2005 she designed and constructed a 3,500 square foot state-of-the-art freestanding veterinary facility.
Dr. Brown is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA), American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA), and American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association (AHVMA). She has special interests in Surgery, Neurology, Animal Chiropractic, and Holistic Medicine. She became interested in Animal Chiropractic when she saw how beneficial it was for her own animals. She is now excited to bring this unique treatment modality to Hanover.
In her free time, Dr. Brown enjoys time with her family, riding and training her horses, and reading. She resides in Littlestown on a farm with her husband and daughter and a menagerie of animals, including four horses, two cows, three cats, and one dog.
